DGPS Mapping Overview

How we are better than the competition? Click here to find out.

Save on average £15/ha per year in fertiliser costs, optimise yield, reduce environmental impact.
Summary of Features & Benefits of Agrovista DGPS Mapping
Independent:
Unbiased and not tied to input purchases.

Flexible:
Sample grid size infinitely variable. We can also tailor the analysis required to individual circumstances, adding in different nutrients and texture where needed.

Quality analysis:
ISO9001 (not merely GLP) registered laboratory.

PCN Sampling:
Unique, pro-active PCN sampling with 100g/200g, automatic zero count retest analysis available for greater accuracy.
Potential savings on inputs:
Our experience to date shows average fertiliser savings of £15/Ha per year. Paying a contractor over £10/Ha clearly removes 66% of potential savings.

Rotational mapping:
A fertility map is often useable for a cropping rotation or more. Therefore mapping and sampling a field can cost as little as £1.47/acre/year.

How we are better than the competition?
In field sampling:
Agrovista ensure that you receive the most accurate and relilable information when using DGPS sampling and mapping services.

All sampling, and Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN) sampling, in particular, requires and receives a meticulous approach from our staff Flexible:
Sample grid size infinitely variable. We can also tailor the analysis required to individual circumstances, adding in different nutrients and texture where needed.

ISO Quality Assured Laboratory:
Lancrop Laboratories analyse all samples, and carry ISO9001 certification, which offers quality standards over and above the usual Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards. We believe the ISO mark may be of particular benefit to customers also adopting this standard. There are two methods of extracting PCN cysts from a sub-sample in the lab. One method is a few pence cheaper but can be very inaccurate. Lancrop Laboratories use the Ministry approved Fenwick Can method that is far more reliable. Some providers use the lower standard method.

Flexibility of Sample Grids and Numbers According to Soil Type and Field History:
Our samplers have been trained to interpret sampling points in a field and not rely merely on the computer-generated gridding. The grid size is also infinitely variable (1/Ha, 1/2Ha, 1/Ac etc). This feature is very useful when sampling for PCN. Money invested in accurate sampling can be targeted in certain parts of a field away from or in known hot spots.

Capacity:
Because of our National coverage, we have the capacity to undertake large volumes of work without delays.

No Need to use Contractors or Buy GPS Equipment for your fertiliser spreaders:
Our maps are designed to allow easy application changes with your existing equipment. The most accurate GPS controlled Variable Rate Applicators will not provide significantly increased savings above the Agrovista system of using your own fertiliser spreaders.

All-inclusive price:
Our price per sample is inclusive of all aspects of the procedure. It is common for some providers to “hide” a charge for map production in addition to an agreed price for sampling.

Simple application maps:
A suggested application map is produced for the major elements, P, K, pH & Mg. These scaled maps allow in field markers to be used and are in addition to the normal index maps.
