Crop management tools are pushing new boundaries to help growers apply inputs with increasing precision, says Agrovista.  The company’s cloud based system Axis includes powerful new packages that process data generated from cutting edge sources, says Lewis McKerrow, Agrovista’s head of precision technology.  Agrovista started producing its Axis more three years ago.  It began with a hub that pulled together information on a range of topics, such as variety information, crop input updates, grain market reports and cross compliance information.

It was designed to meet a growing need for advisers to be at the cutting edge of technology and to offer growers a suite of services tailored to their needs.
Two distinct subscription areas have been developed – Field Pro for field records, and MapIT Pro for field mapping – in the three years since Agrovista started producing Axis as a hub for variety information, input details and market reports.
New integrated packages developed by Plantsystems, the company’s technology arm, are now coming through the pipeline.  Users will be able to upload and share agronomy and precision farming data in real time.
MapIT Pro Advanced allows any type of precision data to be imported, edited, and viewed.  This module enables field zones to be created and plans exported to arable machinery, all in a web based environment.
Agrovista has also been working with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to deliver reliable, high quality biomass maps – without growers having to make a big investment upfront.
