Arable farmers in East Anglia now have access to the latest mobile seed cleaning technology following Agrovista’s investment in a new high specification machine.
The mobile unit cleans and dresses farm-saved cereal crop seed and can travel to any site within the region, providing grain samples of the highest quality.
With farmers heading into harvest and therefore making plans for drilling autumn crops, the investment is a timely addition to Agrovista’s established seed business.
Seed Mobile Manager, Andy Russell said: “It’s important to think about farm saving your own crop to guarantee seed supply ready for when you want to drill, and to ensure it’s of a known quality.
“We’re committed to investing in the latest technology and this higher spec machine enables us to deliver an improved service for our customers, which includes offering a range of seed treatments.
“We’re open to both new and existing customers, you don’t have to be already working with us to book the service. Just contact our dedicated office at Ely and we will arrange for one of our trained operators to visit you.”
As well as the new machine, enhanced health and safety training has been provided to ensure safety protocols are adhered to when visiting farms.
Andy added: “Implementing effective health and safety measures in the workplace is extremely important, especially on farm, which is why we have provided training ready for the autumn season.
“Additional protocols have also been introduced to ensure that the service can take place within the constraints of social distancing and COVID-19. We want to reassure customers that the safety of them and our staff is of paramount importance.”
