Phil Edenborough

Phil Edenborough is Head of Rural Consultancy at Agrovista, having worked for the company for more than 40 years. Both BASIS and FACTS qualified, Phil is central to Agrovista’s environmental stewardship work, championing a sustainable approach to farming.

In his role which he has held for the past 15 years, Phil has developed a trusted and reputable service, overseeing a team of professional agents and Agrovista staff. Their work involves advising on everything from environmental stewardship and diversification, to business planning and cash flow projections.

During this time, he has also built relationships with important industry organisations including DEFRA, Natural England and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

Besides being an all-round advocate for environmental stewardship, Phil has a particular interest in rural field sports and how these can be used to benefit the countryside and enhance farm businesses. Based in Shropshire, Phil is ideally placed to network and advise on a national level.

Lewis Butlin

Farm Business and Environmental Consultant Lewis Butlin is part of the Rural Consultancy team at Agrovista. Following graduation from Newcastle University with a degree in agriculture and farm business management, Lewis spent two years working as a Conservation Advisor for FWAG.

Following this he joined Andersons, where he built experience in areas such as strategic business planning, budgeting and SFP/BPS. Lewis, who is FACTS qualified, has also worked as an Assistant Farm Manager for a 700ha farm in Cambridgeshire, overseeing the implementation of a Higher Level Stewardship agreement. It was during this time that he began working for Agrovista as a consultant.

Scotland-based Lewis now has clients both sides of the border, supporting them with all areas of the Rural Consultancy team’s provision. It’s Lewis’s wide range of practical experience, including practical farming, that makes him an asset to Agrovista and it’s customers.
